MHS Criminal Justice has several State Qualifiers for Skills USA

Mission High School Criminal Justice students participated in the Skills USA competition recently and did extremely well in various categories. MHS teams competed in Crime Scene Investigation, Felony Traffic Stop, Building Search, Criminal Justice, Firefighting and Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl. Alexis Aranda placed first in Firefighting, Jetlynn Gonzalez placed first in Criminal Justice Individual, and the Quiz Bowl Teams placed first and third.

Since 2015, the MHS Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl team has been placing first and has advanced to State in this category. MHS students will be competing in State on April 4 – 7, 2019 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Congratulations to the student officers for Skills USA District 13-A: Ryan Vick - President, Jesus Molina - Vice President, Noevelyn Garza - Treasure, and Yaretzi Gonzalez – Parliamentarian.

The student officers did an awesome job by attending summer leadership institute trainings in Burnet, Texas and Washington, D.C. There were seven officers in District 13-A and four of the officers were Mission High School students. The Criminal Justice Skills USA Advisors are Frank Rios and Belinda Anzaldua. Students were also happy to say a quick hello to Ms. Minnie Rodgers, District 13 Director/ Mission CISD Board Secretary.
