MHS Cosmetology students excel at SkillsUSA competition

Mission High School Cosmetology students participated in the SkillsUSA competition on April 5 – 7, 2019. There were over 150 exhibits and over 50 school districts that competed. MHS submitted 14 exhibits and 13 of them received 1st place ribbons and one received a 2nd place ribbon. All exhibits are graded individually in the various categories. Congratulations to all the students that participated in this competition, they did an excellent job representing Mission High School.  The Cosmetology students are under the direction of Ms. Carina Cuevas.


The results are as follows:

* Cosmetology- State Superior (1st place)- Best of Show and Best of Show Texas- Human Service

* Braiding- State Superior (1st place) – Angela Salvatierra


* Day and Evening Comb out- State Superior (1st place) – Ashley Acosta, Maria Brasher, Leann

 Castillo, Vanessa De La Cruz, Diana Jimenez, Aliza Lopez, Jaylynne Molina, Jennifer Rodriguez,    Kayla Sanchez, Katherine Vasquez, and Erika Vega.
