Veterans Memorial High School Jazz Band competed at the 19th Annual RGV Jazz Festival held at the Harlingen CISD Performing Arts Center on April 27, 2019. The band received straight Superior ratings from all three judges. In addition, the VMHS Jazz Band earned 2nd place in the 5A division. In addition, the following members, sophomore Daniel Martinez (clarinet), sophomore Laura Barba (flute), and Junior Brandon Salinas (trumpet) were selected as Outstanding Soloists among all students participating in the contest. The VMHS Jazz Band is under the direction of Gabriel Molina. Congratulations to VMHS Jazz Band students on their hard work.
