Mission CISD had three students that received the HEBuddy Advocate Award in May. Isabella Ortiz from Pearson Elementary, Kimberly Villarreal and Xavier Miranda, both from Bryan Elementary. This award is in recognition of outstanding leadership in addition to inspiring friendship and kindness among peers.
When a child is nominated for the award it goes through a panel of HEB Diversity Leaders and Community Leaders before they are selected as recipients. There were only six HEBuddy Advocate Award recipients from throughout the Rio Grande Valley and our district had three of the recipients.
HEB personnel visited the campuses to make their award presentations. Students were elated to see HEBuddy as part of the award patrol. All recipients received a certificate and some goodies for all their efforts.
