The Mighty Mission Eagle Marching Band made MCISD history on Saturday, September 21st made finals at the Bands of America South Texas Regional (BOA-STR). Last year, the MHS Band made district history by being the first band from MCISD to win an award at the BOA- South Texas Regional. This year, the students went one step further, becoming the first band from MCISD to make finals at any Bands of America Regional.
This is the first time a group from our district was able to perform in the night show as one of ten finalist bands of 28 groups registered to compete. The Mission High School Band also placed higher than several schools that historically tend to place higher at the State Marching Band Contest in both 5A and 6A. The Eagle Band continues to soar next Saturday, October 5th at the US Bands South Texas Regional here at Tom Landry Stadium.
