Mission, Texas- When the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros baseball team hits the field for their 2021 season, they will have an Eagle in their midst. Steve Villarreal from Mission High School (MHS) is the first senior of this school year to sign a letter of intent accepting an athletic scholarship to play at the collegiate level. Villarreal officially signed today during a special ceremony held at MHS with family, coaches, and bleachers full of friends. Villarreal serves as a pitcher and shortstop for the Eagles.
