Mission, Texas-Veterans Memorial High School award winning Jazz Band are the recipients of a grant from the Texas Jazz Educators Association (TJEA) for $300. The funds will be used to purchase traveling cases for their equipment which is constantly loaded and unloaded as they perform across Mission and the Rio Grande Valley. The cases will help students travel more efficiently as well as provide a more finished professional appearance while simultaneously promoting the campus and music program. The TJEA organization promotes the continued growth and development of jazz through education. The VMHS Jazz Band is under the direction of band director, Gabriel Molina.
