Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS), Mission Jr. High School (MJHS) and Rafael Cantu Jr. High School (RCJH) band students recently competed and auditioned for a seat in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region XV All-Region Jazz Bands. Five students from VMHS, four students from MJHS, and three students from RCJH earned a seat in the prestigious performing groups, competing with students from Roma to Alamo.
This past weekend they performed in a combined concert on Saturday, Feb. 1 at McAllen Memorial High School with the middle school and high school TMEA Region XV All-Region Jazz Bands, and many of these students were featured soloists.
The VMHS, MJHS, and RCJH Band staff is immensely proud of these students’ hard work all year, and are incredibly honored to have them represent Mission CISD at this concert. This year marks the most students from Mission ever in attendance at this concert.
