Mission CISD competed in the Area 1-Special Olympics Texas Basketball Competition held at Sharyland Pioneer High School on February 28 – 20, 2020. The district had a total of 46 athletes participate in the competition. The Round Robin Basketball Tournament had four different brackets and Team Mission had 2 basketball teams compete in the tournament. All the practice they put in weeks leading up to the tournament paid off as they both won 1st place in their respective bracket. They showed tremendous poise and teamwork on the court and certainly represented Mission well. The team members are as follows:

Day two offered the individual skills competition. This is where the athletes perform a variation of either a timed 10-meter dribble or a 60 second speed dribble, a target pass drill, and a spot shooting drill. Team Mission had 27 of athletes that competed in this category and they did amazing. Results are as follows:
