VMHS HOSA students advance to state

Mission, Texas- A wide range of areas will be represented by the Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) HOSA chapter when they compete at the state conference next month. The advancing students advanced based upon their recent results at the Area VII HOSA competitions. 

Juan Garcia is advancing in the area of Health Care Issues. Kelly Lamb will be competing in Medical Spelling. The team of Clarissa Sepulveda and Stephanie Olivares are advancing to the Community Awareness competitions with their topic on autism. In the Public Service Announcement competition, the team of Vanessa Galvan, Emma Zamora, and Kayla Rodriguez advance to state. 

VMHS HOSA chapter members continue to distinguish themselves through community service, earning several the Barbara James Service Award. Those students are: Juan Garcia, Giselle Maya, Briana Diaz, Brianna Luna, Jackie Nunez. VMHS students logged over 100 hours of their time to altruistic endeavors so far this year. 

Other VMHS HOSA chapter members who finished strongly at the area competition but did not qualify for state include: Juan Garcia, Clinical Nursing; and Leah Pcazo, Nicole Munoz, Jessica Hernandez, Jose Gonzalez, Jocelyn Sierra, Public Service Announcement.
