Mission High School 2020 graduate, Alan Castellanos, was recently recognized as Youth of the Year by the RGV Border Patrol Sector in a virtual awards ceremony hosted in part by several area businesses. Alan and nine additional students from across the Rio Grande Valley were each awarded a $3,000 scholarship for their exemplary performance in and out of the classroom. Alan had been previously recognized as a Head of the Class student which is the initial stage that provides advancement opportunities for this particular scholarship. Alan will attend the University of Texas in the fall where he hopes to pursue a degree in Computer Science.
