Mission Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent, Dr. Carol G. Perez, has been tasked with shaping the curriculum management program that aids in teacher lessons and instruction for students in the state. She was recently invited to represent Region One ESC on the Texas Computer Cooperative (TCC) Governing Board where she will join superintendents and Educational Service Center Executive Directors as members of the governing board.
The TCC Governing Board manages the Texas Essential of Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Resource System, a curriculum management program. Mission CISD along with the majority of the districts in the state use this system to help teachers develop their daily lessons and instruction.
“My background and passion is in curriculum and instruction. Being invited to participate in the TCC Governing Board is a great opportunity to join other superintendents and work collaboratively in decisions that allow districts to provide the very best tools that enrich the learning process for all our students,” states Dr. Perez. “I feel honored and welcome the learning opportunity.”
According to Dr. Perez, her focus as part of the governing board will be to take into account all students, especially special population groups to assure that all needs are met within the diversity of our students. She will be meeting with the governing board every three months for 60 to 90 minutes to discuss the curriculum management program.
The decisions made by the TCC Governing Board are very important and impacts over 900 school districts. Dr. Perez along with fellow board members will provide high quality curriculum management service to many school districts and charter schools throughout the state.
