Mission, Texas- Choir students at Veterans Memorial High School are adapting to the shift to participating in competitions, virtually. The adaptability and talents of two has resulted in them qualifying to advance to the next level of competitions for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Choir.
Aldo Bernal, Micaela Flores, and Ethan Jones had advanced to the Region and Pre-Area auditions that were held, virtually this past weekend. Bernal and Flores scored well enough with the judges to advance to the Area level of auditions. Musicians who perform well enough at the Area level earn a coveted spot as a TMEA All-State musician. This honor is often considered the highest possible for high school band and choir students.
The Area auditions will be held, virtually, January 2-9, 2021.
