MHS BPA students receive national accolades

Mission High School students participated in the Texas State Leadership Conference for Business Professionals of America (BPA) and had two National Qualifiers as well as one National Alternate. The students that placed are Jorge Salinas 2nd Place -- Advanced Word Processing -- National Qualifier, Sophia Hernandez 2nd Place Health -- Administration Procedures -- National Qualifier, and Noe Pena 6th Place -- Database Applications -- National Alternate.

“I was so proud of all our members who stepped out of their comfort zones and competed for the first time ever in a virtual state conference and participated in some of the extra activities as well,” states Shirla Blackwell, MHS BPA sponsor.

According to Ms. Blackwell, when the students were able to compete face-to-face in the past, they would always get compliments from the general public about how polite and well-mannered they were. The MHS BPA students are winners for doing their very best.
