Mission High School FBLA Members Advance to National Conference

Mission High School has two FBLA members advancing as National Qualifiers, Gabriel Rodriguez placed 2nd in Database Design & Application and Jorge Salinas placed 2nd in Word Processing. Both will attend the FBLA National Leadership Conference which originally was to be held in Anaheim, CA – June 29 to July 2, 2021, but has turned into a virtual competition.

 A total of eight FBLA members advanced to the FBLA State Leadership Conference by virtue of placing at the FBLA Area IV Leadership Conference. Due to the Covid 19 situation, FBLA Area 4 and FBLA State competitions were both held at Mission High School.

The Mission HS FBLA members that advanced to State are- Desiree Gonzalez (Introduction to Financial Math), Zhi Huang (Business Calculations), Neftaly Rivera and America Perales (Health Care Administration), Ashley Romo (Spreadsheet Applications), Santiago Hernandez (Business Communications), Gabriel Rodriguez (Database Design & Application), and Jorge Salinas (Word Processing).

Mission High School FBLA has also won 1st place for contributing to the March of Dimes and 3rd place to the FBLA Endowment Fund of $1 per member every year since its inception in the 1990’s. Neftaly Rivera was recognized as a Texas FBLA Who’s Who Member. Mr. O’caña, Mission High School Adviser, was also recognized for his 41 years of service to the FBLA organization.
