Mission CISD 5th grade students earn high school credit

Mission, Texas- Mission Consolidated Independent School District had a total of 61 Dual Language 5th graders from throughout the district that earned Spanish I High School credit. This is an amazing accomplishment that requires commitment on their part but getting ahead will allow them to take other classes of interest.

Students are required to participate in a Dual Language Enrichment program for a minimum of five years. They also have to perform at a Meets or Masters level in STARR Reading and Math (Spanish or English). In addition, they must also demonstrate proficiency in Reading and Speaking on the English and Spanish LAS Links Assessment.

For those interested in the program or need more information contact Angie Martinez, Bilingual, ESL, and Foreign Languages Director at (956) 323-5554.
