Veterans Memorial Early College HS students attend Summer Bridge Program

Veterans Memorial Early College High School (VMECHS) Cohort 2 students participated in the Summer Bridge Program on June 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th.  The goal of the program is to provide an opportunity for incoming 10th grade VMEHS students to “bridge” into high school and college by exposing students to college preparation and TSI testing.

Students participated in several activities kicking off with presentations by former MCISD students’ that spoke about their university experiences. Students also reviewed schedules for fall and spring semesters; reviewed STC Blackboard; signed their degree plans; received TSI ELAR/Math tutorials; and TSI testing.

Students were greeted by the campus staff members, Mighty Patriot Band, Patriot Cheer team, Stars Drill Team and the JROTC. They also received numerous door prizes and school supplies.  Overall, it was a great success as students were able to meet VMHS teachers and VMECHS counselors in-person for the first time.   Several students were able to also complete the ELAR and Math TSI Assessments requirements.
