Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) Band students have earned coveted seats in TMEA Region 15 All-Region Jazz Bands. The VMHS musicians competed against students from across the Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday, September 21 at Sharyland High School to earn a spot for the TMEA All-Region Jazz Bands. Four students earned seats in the performing groups, along with one student advancing to the highly competitive Area round of competition for All-State. The VMHS Band program is immensely proud of our students for representing VMHS at such a high level, and for maintaining the tradition of all band students earning seats in the TMEA All-Region Jazz Bands year after year.
These students will perform at a concert with other jazz students from around the Valley under the direction of esteemed jazz musicians from across the country.
Congratulations to the following VMHS Jazz Band students: Gabriel Sanchez - 3rd Chair Trumpet Area Jazz Band (Advance to Area), Noema Trevino - 4th Chair Tenor Sax Region Jazz Band, Sarah Martinez-Salinas - 9th Chair Trumpet Region Jazz Band, and Eli Lopez - 2nd Chair Guitar Region Jazz Band.
