VMHS Band students advance to the TMEA All-Region Band Auditions

VMHS Band Clarinet and Trumpet students competed against students from across the Rio Grande Valley on Saturday, November 13th at Sharyland Pioneer High School. This competition was the TMEA Phase One Band Auditions, which is the first round of auditions before advancing to the TMEA All-Region Band Auditions next weekend.


A total of 11 students advanced to the highly competitive TMEA All-Region Band audition next week. The VMHS Band program is immensely proud of our students for representing our campus at such a high level, and for maintaining the tradition of VMHS Band students advancing to the TMEA All-Region Auditions year after year.


The following are the results of this competition: Sarah Martínez-Salinas - 1st chair Trumpet, Manuel Flores - 8th chair Bb Clarinet, Jewelisa Gonzalez  - 38th chair Bb Clarinet, Zamira Galvan- 36th chair Bb Clarinet, Cecilia Garcia - 34th chair Bb Clarinet, David Leal - 3rd chair Bb Clarinet, Evie Gonzalez - 25th chair Trumpet, Gabriel Sanchez - 5th chair Trumpet, Roy Cardenas - 3rd chair Trumpet, Eli Lopez - 39th chair Bb Clarinet and (not pictured, Karl Schmidt - 24th chair Bb Clarinet).


These students will compete at the TMEA All-Region Band auditions next Saturday on Nov. 20th against students from around the Valley for a chance to earn a highly coveted seat in the TMEA All-Region Bands. Congrats VMHS Band students!
