The District Holiday originally planned for Monday, February 7, got pushed back one week to Monday, February 14. When the National Football League moved the date of the Super Bowl back by one week, the decision was made to also move the District Holiday associated with Super Bowl Monday. The day after the Super Bowl (Super Bowl Monday) has the highest rate of absenteeism throughout the nation in all businesses and schools.
This means that this coming Monday, February 7 is a regular school and work day for Mission CISD. Our Monday off will be Valentine’s Day/Super Bowl Monday, on February 14.
