Mission, Texas- The District Spelling Bee champion is Kaleb Richardson a 4th grader at Bryan Elementary. Kaleb Richardson will represent Mission CISD at the 33rd Annual Rio Grande Valley Regional Spelling Bee. The regional spelling bee will be held at Texas State Technical College, Harlingen in the Science and Technology Building (W) Lecture Hall on Saturday, March 5, 2022. The regional bee will start promptly at 9:00 a.m.

2nd Place: Kiyanna Martinez – 7th Grade – R. Cantu Jr. High School (Spelling Bee Sponsor – Elsa Gomez)
3rd Place: Victor Mireles – 6th Grade – Kenneth White Jr. High School (Spelling Bee Sponsor – Richard Obligar)
4th Place: Mia Diaz – 5th Grade – Escobar-Rios Elementary (Spelling Bee Sponsor – Loretta Garcia)
5th Place: Bonifacio Salinas – 5th Grade – Waitz Elementary (Spelling Bee Sponsor – Elizabeth Tanguma)
