MHS softball player earns scholarship with her impressive skills

Mission, Texas- Mission High School senior, Bailey Hernandez, just hit it out of the park as she signs her letter of intent to play softball at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas. She is excited to continue her softball career at the collegiate level and can’t wait to start with her new team the Rebels.

“This is pretty awesome and I’m really excited that I got a softball scholarship,” states Bailey Hernandez. “I didn’t think that I was going to get the opportunity to play at the collegiate level but now I just can’t wait to start playing.”

Bailey got the opportunity to go to a Softball Showcase in Seguin, Texas where she impressed Hill College coaches with her skills. At the showcase, Bailey played with her traveling softball team against other teams. She hit a home run that day and that is what sealed the deal for her. The coach for the Rebels invited her to visit the college and was then offered a scholarship.

Not only is Bailey a great athlete but she is a well-rounded student that strives for academic excellence. She puts in the hard work on and off the field. She is Student Council President, National Honor Society Vice President, and Future Farmers of America member. She also played volleyball, basketball, and ran track.

Bailey will be seeking a degree in Kinesiology to ultimately become a physical therapist. She is the daughter of Mabeli and Robert Hernandez.
