Mission, Texas- Mission Consolidated Independent School District has two FIRST Lego League (FLL) teams advancing to State competition and they are the only two from the Rio Grande Valley that are advancing. Marcell Elementary (Robotic Eagles) won first place while Salinas Elementary (Salinas Mini Robots) won second place at Regionals which earned their qualification.
The Robotic Eagles team members are Liliana Delgado, Cristian Garza, Alejandro Dominguez, Ryan Laboy, Mathew Laboy, Angel Romero, and Aliah Garza. The team is coached by Kelly Sarinana.
The Salinas Mini Robots team members are Geraldine Olivarez, Andrew Torres, Athena Garcia, Daytric Burse, Robert Salinas, Ximena Perez, Hailly Ortega, Rydalie Ramirez, and (not pictured) Faith Urbano. The team is coached by Nancy Cardenas and Hortencia Morales

The State competition for the two State Qualifiers will be a hybrid model with the remote portion of the judging beginning on March 6-10, 2023. The game portion of the competition will be in person on March 11, 2023, in Stafford, Texas.
