Mission, Texas- Veterans Memorial High School Patriot athlete, Quincy Handy, just signed to play baseball at the collegiate level. He will be headed to Arlington Baptist University (ABU) to join their baseball team this fall. Although the team colors may be a little different, he will continue playing for the Patriots in college.
“This means a lot to me, it shows all the hard work I put in since I started playing baseball up until now has paid off,” states Handy. “This wouldn’t have happened without my mom and dad and without the man upstairs. Without them I wouldn’t be here right now, and this wouldn’t be happening. I give thanks to all of them.”
Handy will be attending a religious university and has stated that he really likes the school. He feels that this university is the one for him and that he has made the right choice.
“It's a Christian school and I feel that school is right for me because of their program, the coaches, and the staff. They are great people. Real religious people like I am,” states Handy.
Handy will start his training this fall and will be concentrating his academic efforts in obtaining a degree in kinesiology with a focus on strength and conditioning. He aspires to become a coach and hopes to start working in his field as soon as he graduates from ABU.
