MHS High Flyers earn honors at recent competition

 

Mission, Texas- The Mission High School High Flyers returned from the recent Showtime International competitions in San Antonio with quite a few honors. 

Melanie Escamilla earned a division one in the solo category. 

Officer awards included: division 1; officer sweepstakes; officer judges award; 1st place officer contemporary; 1st place officer pom; 2nd place officer jazz; champion circle.

Team awards included: division 1; sweepstakes; judges award; 1st place team lyrical; 2nd place team pom; 3rd place team hip hop; champion circle. 

Members of the varsity High Flyers are: Melanie Escamilla, major; Giselle Melendez, 1st captain; Angela Salinas, 2nd captain; Jocelyn Perez, 1st Lieutenant; Alexa Arevalo, 2nd lieutenant; Deborah Cedillo; Alyssa Chavez; Alexia Flores; Karla Garcia; Andrea Gomez; Yaquelin Guerrero; Abigail Hernandez; Kaitlen Navarro; Racquel Pequeno; Jada Perez; Kaitlyn Rodriguez; Perla Valdez; Paola Zapata. 

JV members are: Savanna Avila; Kaitlyn Barron; Ashley Cantu; Lillian Felix; Audrey Gutierrez; Emily Hernandez; Jacinta Hernandez; Miriam Leal; Regina Mendoza; Gladys Montez; April Ramirez; Katie Sanchez; Lakeisha Taell.

Equipment manager is Karen Gamez. The director for the High Flyers is Naileah Garza. Assistant directors are Alexis Chapa and Raquel Rios.
