MHS student accepted into National Student Leadership Conference

Mission, Texas- Mission High School (MHS) student, Abraham Hernandez will begin pursuing his dream entering the field of sports management early. The senior has been selected to participate in the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) on Sport Management this summer at Duke University. 

Hernandez will live and learn on the Duke campus and have the opportunity to interact with peers from around the world. The conference will focus on: introduction to the business of sports; sports research and broadcasting; sports law; event management; sponsorships and corporate development; marketing and public relations. 

Upon completion of the conference, he will be awarded an academic transcript, letters of recommendation, and a certificate of achievement to include with his college application. 

Hernandez has been accepted to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and he plans to major in sports management. He has announced his commitment to play football for them and will formally sign his letter of intent on April 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mission High School Neuhaus Gym.
