Mission, Texas- Bryan Elementary School resource paraprofessional, Iris Saldivar got a surprise this morning. Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Superintendent Dr. Carol G. Perez and the Executive Leadership Team dropped in on her classroom to surprise her with the news that she has been selected as the 2023 Mission CISD District Staff Member of the Year.
Each Mission CISD campus/building selected a paraprofessional/hourly employee to honor as its Staff Member of the Year. Those individuals are recognized for their positive influen ce on their worksites, colleagues, people they serve, and for initiative in getting things completed. Each campus/building Staff Member of the Year was nominated for the District award. A panel of campus and district administrators reviews and scores each nomination to come up with a district honoree.
Saldivar was presented with a special award, a yard sign, and a $500 check from the Education Foundation of Mission CISD.
