VMHS track star signs with The University of Texas at Arlington
Mission, Texas - Veterans Memorial High School athlete, Carla Guerrero, just signed a letter of Intent with The University of Texas at Arlington today to compete in track. She will be headed to Arlington, Texas to join their Mavericks track team this fall.
“I’ve already taken a tour of the campus and it’s beautiful,” states Guerrero. “I do long-distance running, so I'm out there for miles and the scenery is amazing, I love it.”
Guerrero will start her training this fall and will be concentrating her academic efforts on obtaining a degree in Criminal Justice, with a focus in Forensic psychology.
“I would like to thank all my coaches from middle school to high school, my mom and dad, and my older sister Paloma. I couldn’t have done this without her.” shares Guerrero. “And my grandma, of course.”
Carla is the daughter of Mary Gomez and Rafa Guerrero. Carla and her family are extremely grateful to Carla’s coaches, and to everyone that has supported her throughout her track career.
