Mission, Texas- Mission Consolidated Independent School District is excited to announce that our district has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This award recognizes the district’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022. This is also the second year in a row that Mission CISD has received this recognition and we were only one of 18 school districts that received this award.
“This is a great honor for the district, and it demonstrates our effort in maintaining our fiduciary duties to our students, parents, and stakeholders,” states Dr. Carol G. Perez. “This recognition is the culmination of the hard work that both our staff and administrators have continued to do for Mission CISD.”
The annual comprehensive report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and to motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
This certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. To obtain such an honor represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
