Mission, Texas - The Mission Consolidated Independent School District (MCISD) Purchasing Department has plenty to celebrate as they have received the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) Award. This prestigious recognition is bestowed upon organizations that demonstrate outstanding excellence in public procurement, exemplifying innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of their organization.
The award not only focuses on practical, documented work but also recognizes leadership and contributions that further advance the public procurement profession. Mission CISD has strived to meet these criteria by going beyond the minimum requirements as set yearly by the AEP Sponsors and has been recognized for its innovative programs and solutions that exemplify outstanding achievements.
"This award is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of our procurement team at Mission CISD. Their hard work, innovation, and exceptional leadership have allowed us to excel in our procurement practices," said Joel Garcia, Assistant Superintendent for Finance at Mission CISD. "We are truly honored to be recognized alongside other distinguished organizations in the public procurement profession."
The procurement departments of cities, counties, and universities were among the recipients of this award that also recognized 24 school districts. Among these districts, only six of them were from the state of Texas. Mission CISD along with one other district are the only recipients from the Rio Grande Valley.
The recognition of Mission CISD with the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award reflects positively on the entire District and its continued dedication to providing excellence in education and community service. This award underscores Mission CISD's position as a leader in public procurement, setting an example for other organizations to follow.
"I am extremely proud of the innovation and leadership the Purchasing Department has demonstrated to further advance the public procurement profession. It is a commendation of the district’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, efficiency, and transparency in procurement processes,” said Dr. Carol G. Perez, Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Superintendent. “This award serves as affirmation that our procurement operation team exceeds industry standards in various categories.”
