Mission, Texas- Still need to take care of a few things before the new school year like immunizations, registration, sports physicals, or haircuts? Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) has scheduled a special event for Tuesday, August 8 to help Mission CISD families deal with some of the last-minute items. The Annual Mission CISD Back to School Bash will be held at the Veterans Memorial High School Gym from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In addition to the many services that will be available that evening, many students will also be able to get a packet of school supplies, thanks to the generous support of local businesses and community organizations. The school supplies will only be given to registered Mission CISD students on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
In addition to the school supplies, other services that will be offered during the Back to School Bash include:
- Free vision screenings (Shah Eye Center)
- Free student haircuts (provided by Mission CISD cosmetology students, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.)
- New registrations
- General school information for each Mission CISD campus
- Immunizations ($7, ProCare)
- Sport Physicals ($10, Monarch Clinic)
- High school fine arts student performances
- Information from our community and corporate sponsors
For those who are planning to take advantage of the physicals, officials with Monarch Clinic say the first page of the physical form must be filled out and signed by parents before the physical can be conducted. Students who have a medical condition that may interfere with medical clearance, parents should bring a clearance letter from a cardiologist or specialist involved with the student’s medical history. This page includes questions about the student’s medical history. The form can be found by clicking on the Back to School Bash web slider located in the front page of the district website. Just click anywhere on the web slider and it will direct you to the Back to School Bash landing page.
Mission CISD officials thank the growing list of Back-to-School Bash sponsors who make this possible including ProCare Health Services, Rodeo Dental, Monarch Clinic, Shah Eye Institute, City of Mission, City of Alton, City of Palmhurst, Hidalgo County Precinct 3, Walmart, Mission Chamber of Commerce, Mission Education Foundation, Lakeshore, and Texas Citrus Pest and Disease Management Corp.
