Mission High School graduate signs with Missouri Valley College

Mission, Texas - Luis Medina, a recent graduate of Mission High School, just signed his letter of intent to play basketball at the collegiate level. He will be headed to Marshall, Missouri to join the Vikings basketball team this upcoming Fall semester.

In high school, I wanted to stay active, so I participated in different sports. I also won NCA All-American as the school's mascot,” states Medina. “But playing basketball at the collegiate level was always the goal. I've been playing basketball since the 6th grade, it’s what I love doing.

Medina credits Coach De La Garza for introducing him to Sam Gonzalez, Regional Admissions Representative for Missouri Valley College, who shared with him the possibility of playing for the big leagues.

Medina will officially start his training on August 18th and will be concentrating his academic efforts on a Pre-Veterinary Medicine pathway, with a focus on becoming a veterinarian.

“I would like to thank my mom first and foremost, my teammates, my coaches for putting up with me, my friends, and everyone who has been in my life and has helped me through my athletic journey,” states Medina.

Medina is the son of Ilsa Guerrero.
