Mission CISD welcomes educators new to the district

Mission, Texas- Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) welcomes 53 educators that are new to the district. The group of teachers that are just starting their teaching career with Mission CISD this school year have been taking part in the new teacher orientation training.

The new teachers started with a four-day orientation at Mission Collegiate High School that outlined the initiatives for the curriculum and instruction and support services departments. The human resources department along with representatives from Region Education Service Center provided them helpful information on the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS). They wrapped up their orientation with the district’s Capturing Kids Heart initiative which is a character-based curriculum for students that also provides them personalized support.

These sessions aid teachers with the implementation of student engagement, classroom management, tips on maximizing student learning, student assessment, and how to use data to help make appropriate decisions on closing achievement gaps.
