Mission, Texas - The annual education rankings are out, and Mission Collegiate High School (MCHS) has made the list of Best High Schools in America. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college.
According to rankings of the Best High Schools in America by U.S. News and World Report, Mission Collegiate High School (MCHS) is ranked among the top high schools in the country. MCHS is ranked 646 out of 17,680 in national rankings and in the top 88 out of 1,532 schools within the state of Texas.
Dr. Carol G. Perez, Superintendent of Schools at Mission Consolidated Independent School District (Mission CISD), expressed immense pride in Mission Collegiate High School's students and staff.
“We could not be prouder of the students and staff at Mission Collegiate High School,” said Dr. Perez. “They have built such a legacy, and this is a wonderful reflection of their continuing hard work, and that excellence resides right here in Mission Consolidated Independent School District.”
Although the total minority enrollment at Mission Collegiate High School (MCHS) is 100%, and 87% of students are economically disadvantaged, the graduation rate is well above the state median at 100%.
The highest ranked U.S. public schools in U.S. News & World Report's 2023-2024 Best High Schools rankings are those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores in an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions. The rankings include data on nearly 25,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Nearly 18,000 schools were ranked on six factors based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college.
U.S. News & World Report recognized all Mission CISD high schools within the district in their national rankings list for recognition.
