Leading the Way: Dr. Carol G. Perez honored 

at Women in History Event 

MISSION, TEXAS (March 26, 2024) – Mission CISD Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Carol G. Perez, stood among 13 other distinguished honorees at the Women in History event hosted by Vanguard Academy.  

The event, dedicated to spotlighting women's achievements in the Mission community, featured esteemed messages including those from Texas State Senators, Ted Cruz, Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, and Texas Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz. 

Expressing her gratitude, Dr. Carol G. Perez remarked, "I am deeply honored to be recognized alongside these trailblazing women who have made significant contributions to their respective fields,” Perez said. "This recognition for my dedication to education is truly humbling and meaningful." 

With over three decades of experience in public and higher education, Perez made history in 2018 as the first female superintendent of Mission Consolidated Independent School District. Her commitment to educational excellence has led to a renewed emphasis on providing quality instruction and meeting the diverse needs of all students. 

In her remarks, Congresswoman De La Cruz commended the honorees, stating, "Each of you is making a profound impact on the City of Mission, Texas." 

Looking ahead, Perez expressed her dedication to serving the Mission CISD community. 

"Mission CISD has given me so much,” Perez said. “I am committed to working tirelessly alongside our exceptional leadership and dedicated board of trustees to ensure our students continue to thrive and achieve their highest potential."
