MISSION, TEXAS (May 6, 2024) - Mission CISD's school bus drivers emerged as top contenders in the Transit Category at the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation Road-eo Competition held over the weekend from May 4-5, 2024, in Mesquite, Texas.
Rodolfo Montes and Leonel Garcia secured top spots at the TAPT Road-eo Competition.
Montes secured 1st place and will be representing Texas at Nationals. While Garcia clinched a 3rd place finish.
Each year, TAPT hosts the annual School Bus Safety Roadeo for both Regular and Special-Needs categories as an opportunity for drivers and attendants to showcase their skills in driving and working with students.
The competition, known for its rigorous challenges, tested drivers' skills in various scenarios, showcasing Montes and Garcia's expertise behind the wheel.
Honorable mention to Noe Soto, who placed 3rd at South Texas Association for Pupil Transportation Roadeo Competition in Donna, Tx on March 9, 2024.
