Mission CISD Celebrates Third Successive Year of Financial Reporting Excellence

MISSION, TEXAS (May 14, 2024) - Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) announces that it has been honored with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the third consecutive year.  

According to the Government Finance Officers Association, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program was established to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare annual comprehensive financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure. 

Mission CISD's consistent attainment of this award is a testament to its adherence to the highest standards of financial reporting. By providing comprehensive and transparent financial statements, the district empowers stakeholders to make informed decisions about its financial health. 

"We are thrilled to once again receive the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association," said Joel Garcia, CPM, Deputy Superintendent Business & Support Services at Mission CISD. "This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire educational leadership team, Mission CISD Board of Trustees, finance team, and all members involved in the financial reporting process.”
