Mission CISD Earns Transparency Stars Award for Traditional Finances

MISSION, TEXAS (Aug 2, 2024) - Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) has announced that it has received the Transparency Stars Award in Traditional Finances from the Texas Comptroller's office. This award recognizes Mission CISD's commitment to financial transparency and accountability.

The Transparency Stars program honors local governments that provide clear, consistent, and accessible financial information to the public. Mission CISD has demonstrated exemplary efforts to enhance its transparency initiatives by offering detailed financial data through documents, visualizations, and other formats.

The district's website now prominently displays the Transparency Stars Award status and links to the comprehensive financial information submitted during the application process. In addition to the award certificate, Mission CISD has received a digital Transparency Stars seal, which is now featured on its website.

"Maintaining and updating our transparency content is crucial to retaining this recognition," said Dr. Cris Valdez, Interim Superintendent of Mission CISD. "We are committed to continuing our efforts in financial transparency and keeping our community informed."

The Texas Comptroller's office will conduct regular checks to ensure that Mission CISD continues to meet the high standards required for the Transparency Stars Award.

Mission CISD congratulates all involved in achieving this significant milestone and looks forward to maintaining the trust and confidence of the community through ongoing transparency initiatives.
