Mission CISD School Board Appoints Jesus Daniel Martinez to Place 7 Seat

MISSION, TEXAS (August 22, 2024) - On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees met for a Special Meeting and appointed Jesus Daniel Martinez to the Place 7 board seat.

In accordance with district policy, the Place 7 board position was publicly posted for 10 days to invite community applications.

Following the application period, the board conducted an anonymous vote to select the top candidates, narrowing the field to four individuals who were then invited for interviews.

Martinez was selected to succeed Minnie R. Rodgers, whose resignation was accepted by the Board of Trustees on August 2, 2024.

Martinez, currently a Watch Commander with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, is an active parent in the Mission CISD community and regularly participates in school activities and events.

The Place 7 seat will be up for re-election in 2026.

The board is scheduled to formally swear in Martinez during a special meeting on August 28, 2024.
