MISSION, TEXAS (November 6, 2024) - Congratulations are in order for Veterans Memorial High School Volleyball Head Coach Diana Lerma, her assistant coaches Gabrielle Lerma, Vivian Ray, Robert Nino, and Ina Trejo, as well as the entire Lady Patriot Girls Volleyball Team for their outstanding performance in the Texas UIL Bi-District Championship on Monday, November 4th.
The Lady Patriots defeated the Lady Mustangs from Corpus Christi King High School in straight sets with scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-19. With this victory, the Lady Patriots now boast a 33-4 record for the season and are set to advance to the Area Round.
Their next challenge will be against the Sharyland Pioneer Lady Diamondbacks, and fans are encouraged to come support the team this Friday, November 8th, at 5:00 PM in the Veterans Memorial High School Gymnasium.
MISSION CISD APPLAUDS LADY EAGLES FOR THEIR STRONG SEASON
Mission CISD is also proud of the Mission High School Lady Eagles Volleyball Team for their remarkable season. Head Coach Edna Clemons, Assistant Coaches Maria Aparicio, Monica Salinas Rivas, Pearl Cantu, Brianna Gonzalez, and the Lady Eagles displayed exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the season.
Although the team was narrowly defeated in the Bi-District round against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial in Hebbronville, Texas, the Lady Eagles finished with an impressive 28-8 overall record. This marks the 10th playoff appearance in the last 15 years for the Lady Eagles, further showcasing their consistent excellence and dedication to the sport.
Mission CISD is proud of both the Lady Patriots and Lady Eagles for their outstanding performances this season. We congratulate all the athletes, coaches, and staff for their unwavering commitment to success and sportsmanship.
