Mission CISD welcomes Edilberto Flores as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Support Services

MISSION, TEXAS (December 20, 2024) Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) is proud to announce the appointment of Edilberto Flores as the new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Support Services. A dedicated educator and leader, Flores brings 32 years of experience with Mission CISD to this critical role.

Flores began his career in Mission CISD in 1993, serving as a teacher and coach before advancing through various leadership roles, including assistant principal at Alton Memorial Junior High, principal at Midkiff Elementary, K. White Junior High, and Mission High School, and Executive Director for State and Federal Programs. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director for the PK-12 Mission High School Vertical Team, providing strategic leadership across grade levels.

With a Bachelor of Arts and a master's degree in educational leadership, as well as certifications in Secondary History (6-12) and as a Principal (EC-12), Flores plans to leverage his extensive experience and collaborative leadership skills to continue serving the district’s students, teachers, and staff.

Dr. Cris Valdez, Superintendent of Schools for Mission CISD, shared her enthusiasm for the new appointment, stating, "I am excited to work with Mr. Flores in this new capacity. His proven leadership and deep commitment to Mission CISD make him an incredible asset to our team as we embark on new projects to support our students and staff."
