The TSPRA Star Awards recognize outstanding school communication efforts across Texas. Entries are divided into three divisions based on the number of students served: under 15,000 students, 15,000 to 40,000 students, and over 40,000 students. Independent judges evaluate and score each entry based on its own merit. Bronze, Silver, and Gold Stars are awarded based on set criteria. The highest-scoring Gold Star winners are then reviewed for Best of Category selections.

“These recognitions highlight the incredible efforts of our Public Relations team in showcasing the achievements, programs, and initiatives of Mission CISD,” said Dr. Cris Valdez, superintendent of schools for Mission CISD.  “Their work is essential in strengthening the connection between our schools and the community.”

At the conference, the Mission CISD Public Relations Department had the opportunity to present to a packed audience during one of the sessions. They shared their expertise on "Setting Camera Exposure" to capture the perfect image. The session offered valuable insights into photography techniques, equipping attendees with skills to enhance their visual storytelling.

“Having the opportunity to share our knowledge amongst our peers and the feedback we had afterward was an amazing experience that was worth more than any award,” said Gerardo Sanchez, Mission CISD Multimedia Journalist.

This recognition highlights the dedication and creativity of the Mission CISD Communications Team in delivering high-quality, engaging content that informs and connects with the community. Congratulations to the team for their continued excellence in school public relations.
