Veterans Memorial’s Aiden Uribe Takes Next Step Toward College Football Career

MISSION, TEXAS (March 7, 2025) – Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) senior and standout All-State linebacker Aiden Uribe has officially signed his letter of intent to play college football. In front of family, friends, coaches, teammates, and several distinguished guests, Aiden announced his commitment to the Nelson University football program during a special signing ceremony held on campus.

The ceremony was attended by the Mission CISD Cabinet, Superintendent Dr. Cris Valdez, Veterans Memorial High School athletic coaches, leadership, and members of the community who gathered to support Aiden in this milestone moment.

As a key player for the Veterans Memorial High School football team, Aiden has demonstrated exceptional talent, leadership, and dedication on the field. According to Head Football Coach David Gilpin, "Aiden’s hard work and perseverance have made him one of the top athletes in the region. His leadership, both on and off the field, is a testament to his commitment to excellence. His signing is a proud moment for our program, Veterans Memorial High School, and the entire Mission CISD community."

Beyond athletics, Aiden will be pursuing his academic aspirations by studying Kinesiology, a field that aligns with his passion for sports and physical performance. His commitment to both academics and athletics reflects the values instilled in students at Veterans Memorial High School.
