Pearson Elementary student artwork selected for Adopt-A-Beach calendar

The creativity of Priscilla Cobos, a fifth grade student at Pearson Elementary School, will be among the artwork that will grace the cover of the 2015 Adopt-A-Beach calendar. The Adopt-A-Beach program held a children’s art contest. The annual competition encourages school children to learn more about the Texas coast and express what they’ve learned through their art. The contest was open to grades K-6.

Cobos said she just imagined what she would like to see at the coast and then tried to show that in her artwork. Her piece shows a picture of a human eye reflecting a dolphin jumping out of the water.

Her artwork, and the others selected for the calendar can also be seen online at: http://www.glo.texas.gov/adopt-a-beach/get-involved/art-contest.html.
