VMHS One Act Play wins Area competitions; advances to Regional level

                The Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) One Act Play team has won the UIL One Act Play Area title with some top honors. The win advances the drama troupe to the Area competitions to be held in San Antonio, Texas on May 1, at the Edgewood Performing Arts Center.  This is the third year in a row that the VMHS One Act Play team has advanced to the Area round of competitions. They have advanced all the way to state the last two years.

                In addition to the Area title, Alex Hinojosa earned best actor; Emily Cantu earned all-star cast honors. Honorable mention all-star cast honors went to Micaela Cantu and Estefany Mendez.

The VMHS One Act Play team consists of: Brian Mueller, Alex Hinojosa, Emily Cantu, Micaela Cantu, Karina Gamboa, Sara Olivarez, Jose Garcia, Isaac Martinez, Miranda Morales, Joel Ocanas, Marisol Cervantes, Estefany Mendez, Clarissa Garza, Jenni Gonzalez, Debanhi Cespedes, Megan Bledsoe, Alyssa Hernandez, Andrew Cruz, Andrea Garcia, Leeann Cota, Brittany Bazaldua, Alex Hernandez. They are directed by James Hodgson and Joe Hernandez.

                The VMHS One Act Play is performing “Mariner” by Don Nigro.
