As a part of career day activities at Cavazos Elementary School, the campus holds a special session for grades Pre-K through second called Careers on Wheels. The participating professional presenters bring their vehicles and the classes rotate among them for information about what they do and the importance of college, graduating from high school, and subjects like Math, Science, Reading, Writing. Each session lasts about 15 minutes. The following week, a more traditional, classroom-based career day event is held for grades 3-5. Presenters in the Careers on Wheels included: fire department, police department, pest control, bus drivers, mobile pediatric clinic, technology repair, child nutrition program deliveries and refrigeration repair.
