VMHS student is state Number Sense champ

                Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) student, Darius Davis came home from the recent state academic UIL competitions with several medals around his neck. One of those medals was a gold medal, for placing first in the Number Sense competition. In the individual rankings, Davis also placed third in state at the Math competition and sixth in the state in Calculator Applications.

                Several other VMHS students and UIL teams finished well at the recent state competition. The Calculator Applications team placed second at state. Team members include: Matthew Sparks, Darius Davis, Henry Davis, Kimberly Garza. Sparks also placed fifth in the individual standings.

                The Number Sense team placed second, overall. Team members include: Darius Davis, Feliciano Escobedo, Hector Iglesias.

                The math team also placed second at state. Team members are: Darius Davis, Hector Iglesias, Feliciano Escobedo, Matthew Sparks. Iglesias placed fourth in the individual standings.
