Two students from Alton Memorial Jr. High School competed for and earned positions in the Middle School All-Region Band.
Kristian Reyna, flute; and Jahaziel Garcia, baritone saxophone earned the honor after individually presenting three prepared etudes and four major scales before a judging panel consisting of band directors from throughout the region.
Each student is judged on criterion that includes: quality of tone, rhythmic precision, notational consistency, and overall musicality.
