VMHS student athlete signs with Northwestern College

R.J. De Leon, a member of the Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) Class of 2014 has signed a letter of intent, accepting a scholarship to Northwestern College. De Leon will become a member of the Red Raiders football team, which was recently ranked 13th in the NAIA spring poll. Northwestern College is located in Orange City, Iowa and is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Kyle Achterhoff, head coach at Northwestern College, said he was very excited De Leon has decided to be a Red Raider. “He is a great athlete who we think can compete at the quarterback position. We like to have athletic quarterbacks who can make plays with their feet, and that is what R.J. does really well.”
