Migrant students participate in Harvest to Harvard

Migrant students from Mission High School and Veterans Memorial High School recently participated in a special leadership conference called, Harvest to Harvard at the McAllen Convention Center. The conference brought in special guest speakers from around the country. This list included motivational speakers like: Keith Davis, a former National Football League player, and Johnathan Medina, a former migrant student from the Rio Grande Valley who graduated from Georgetown University.

Topics included: moving from poverty to prosperity-believing it is possible-the college opportunity is for you; let’s get ready; its not how you get started-it is how you finish.

Pictured are some of the students from MHS and VMHS with the three main speakers from Harvest to Harvard.
